THE SECOND ANNUAL FUNDRAISER FOR STILLPOINT

On Saturday, July 18 from 7:30-8:30 pm, at the Performing Arts Center in Oak Bluffs, the Chicago-based Bluebird Improv will perform their hilarious brand of long-form improvisational comedy. This troupe includes some of the best improvisers on the planet, formed out of a shared passion for making people laugh. Each performance is fully improvised, based upon conversations with that night’s audience, creating a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Featuring Bluebird Improv

Scheduled to Appear:

Bluebird is a collection of legendary comedians, who tour the world, performing shows that are fully improvised, once in a lifetime experiences—each and every show

Made up of some of comedy’s most recognizable faces from TV and movies as well as some that will become your new favorites, Bluebird was formed out of a shared, (still) burning love for improvising and entertaining audiences.

The rotating cast often includes: Matt Walsh (Veep, Ghosts), Tim Meadows (SNL, DMV), Joe Canale (Mindy Project), Brad Morris (AP Bio), Rachel Dratch (SNL, Wine Country), and Marc Evan Jackson (The Good Place, Brooklyn 99). But, there are always a few other people that contribute to the show just as much as the performers. The audience!

Each and every show is completely unscripted and totally unique. The reason for that? Bluebird uses a short conversation with a couple of audience members at the top of the show to inspire the spontaneous, unhinged and beautifully hilarious comedy mayhem that ensues.

The shows are a uniquely satisfying live comedy entertainment experience and because each audience is different—so is each show. If you don’t believe us, see two!

Tim Meadows is an actor, writer comedian who was one of the longest-running cast members on Saturday Night Live, where he appeared for ten seasons and for which he received a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series in 1993. Some of his most memorable characters on the popular late-night show included “Leon Phelps”, “The Ladies’ Man”, and “Lionel Osbourne,” host of the fictional public affairs show, “Perspectives”, as well as uncanny impressions of OJ Simpson, Ike Turner, and Sammy Davis Jr.

Tim started as a member of the renowned Second City comedy troupe in Chicago, beside future star Chris Farley. Prior to starring on SNL, he worked there as a writer until becoming a cast member in 1991.

Throughout his legendary career, Meadows famously played the school principal in the hit comedy Mean Girls with Lindsay Lohan and co-starred in many of Adam Sandler’s blockbuster comedies such as Grown Ups, Grown Ups 2, andHubie Halloween. Additionally, Tim co-starred with Andy Samberg in Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping for Universal Pictures and co-starred with John C. Reilly in Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story for Sony Pictures.

Joe Canale has been improvising around the world for the past 30 years, including stints at Boom Chicago in Amsterdam and The Second City Mainstage in Chicago amongst many others. While he’s not made appearances in film and television his greatest pleasure is derived from performing live improv for an audience. He hopes you enjoy watching this show as much as he enjoys performing it.
